well, i know i asked kristen to burn the soundtrack of phantom for me but i just couldn't wait, so i just bought it on buy.com. i love that website. i can't get the music out of my head since sunday. i'll say it again: wonderful!

yesterday i became a full-fledged employee of aldine isd. yay for me! only thing is, i didn't know that there was a "final" transcript from UH that had the date my degree was conferred, so until i get that to HR they have me making about $2500 less than what i should be. so i made a trip to UH yesterday and i am going back today to make sure i get paid exactly what i am supposed to! also, if i do end up teaching reading...which is what they think i am going to do, i get an extra $3000 a year. i was utterly shocked. hell yeah i'll teach reading! what's funny is that i have always wanted to be a reading specialist i just didn't want to go start into a master's program after my bachelors. but with the way the certification tests work now i am certified to teach reading. i hope i get it! another good thing that i found out yesterday was that if i spend up to $300 at the southwest teacher supply store through july i can get everything reimbursed. another yay for aldine! i am going up to the school next week to see my classroom and get a feel for what i am going to need so then i can go shopping! i am so happy. there is a new teacher orientation from aug.1-3 and then my first day of work is the 4th. it's going to be great.
